Just a quick post to inform that Armadillo Aerospace has just won the first level of the Lunar Lander Challenge.
That is $350,000 USD to them for that leg.
They will attempt the Level 2 challenge tomorrow and go for the big bickies.
WELL DONE ARMADILLO!!
Interestingly, they have just also announced that Armadillo and the Rocket Racing League have teamed up and starting a new company that will be offering private space tourist flights from Spaceport America.
Testing will begin early next year.

So, I am trying to diagnose a power issue that we have in the new house.
Maybe twice or three times a month the Earth Leakage Breaker will pop in the dead of the morning, cutting power to the house. Luckily I havent been caught out yet missing my train due to the alarm being off, but it is only a matter of time I guess.
We dont have much turned on at that time in the morning, only a handful of mobile phone and laptop charges and the occasional plug pack for various devices, a couple of computers and oh yeah, the fridge.
On discussing this matter with a few electricians on the OverClockers.com.au forums, it was decided to try and isolate the issue, despite the fact that it might take 12 months to do so.
So you are already in the booming Sydney property market, but decide that the time is right to move on up in the world and invest in a bigger house.

You decide to buy a new house, not yet finished by a builder seen as a ‘premium’ provider.
Still all good, right?
Wrong.
Despite my family having owned 3 or 4 houses from this builder, and despite us paying a premium price for our new house, we have problems a plenty. No matter what you do, sometimes you cant find all the issues with a house till long after you have moved in, but in our case we identified MOST of the issues before the house was finished and before we had settled.
Asquith Homes was our choice of builder. Also has ties to Beechworth, or XXXXXX homes. We knew of the quality of their homes due to past experience and were impressed by their premium standing and good design, however what we didnt bank on was George’s absolute lack of customer service, lack of empathy and bluntly, total lack of anything vaguly resembling a brain.
So the Australian Federal Government is *still* going at it to implement a country-wide, compulsory, ISP level, Internet filtering solution. This is incredulous for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that it plainly just doesnt work, another that the majority of Australians just dont want it.
The big problem is that not enough people are interested enough to make enough noise about it.

Australian TV viewers really have it tough when it comes to Electronic Program Guide (EPG) info.
For some reason the TV networks have all decided that it is not applicable for them to release an EPG so that viewers using PVR’s or Home Theatre PC’s can schedule recordings.
See, I would have thought that it would have been in their best interest to release this info so that people would watch the shows that they air, but I must be missing something.
Slap me silly and colour me pink, David Blaine is being called a fraud by the media over his latest ’stunt’.
He proported to be going to hang upside down from a wire over Central Park in NY for 60 hours. He would drink water upside down and even urinate through a catheter.
The issue is that people saw him taking 10 minute breaks every hour where he was standing.
His publicist was forced to say that of course, he would die if he didnt.
