I am a little astounded at the hoo hah that is going around at the moment about the Large Hadron Collider (LCH). Apparantly the lunatic fringe that make up these outrageous theories like a mini black hole able to swallow the earth able to be produced, have a hard time reading and comprehending basic facts.

The date that they are all whining and complaining about the world coming to an end, is actually the first test firing of the LHC and no collisions will be taking place.

It was a one way firing, bit hard to make a collision with only one particle beam. Sort of like one hand clapping I suppose. 

Anyway, the REAL science wont be happening till later in the year, that is when the collisions will begin.
